Richie Ashburn arrived on the scene in Philadelphia in 1948. From 1949-1959 he averaged just over 152 games a year for the Phillies. A .308 career hitter, it was Ashburns job to get on base and score runs. And he did just that. In 12 years with the club he crossed the plate an average of nearly 93 times per season.
